{"id":1823,"date":"2016-06-12T16:39:50","date_gmt":"2016-06-12T14:39:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/organisationen\/"},"modified":"2024-05-16T12:30:35","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T10:30:35","slug":"organisationen-alt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/organisationen-alt\/","title":{"rendered":"Municipal, semi-public, and private Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gardening in the city is booming: more and more Viennese want to plant, cultivate, and harvest their own vegetables and consume fresh food, whether in rented garden plots, community gardens, or simply on an open spot of land.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/bio-forschung-austria\/\">\u201dGarteln in Wien\u201d<\/a> (Gardening in Vienna) has been set up by the city at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bioforschung.at\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bio Forschung Austria<\/a> as a new coordination and support center: city dwellers can learn where to grow their own food in Vienna, and where they can find fresh, locally-farmed produce.<\/p>\n<p>Various departments of the city lease land to provide horticultural opportunities for city dwellers that do not own a private garden. Some examples include the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wien.gv.at\/umwelt\/wald\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MA 49 \u2013 Forestry Office and Urban Agriculture<\/a>, o<span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">n whose land there are some community gardens located,<\/span>\u00a0and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wien.gv.at\/advuew\/internet\/AdvPrSrv.asp?Layout=stelle&amp;Type=K&amp;stellecd=1995072711395446\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MA 28 \u2013 Road Administration and City Construction<\/a>, which provides green spaces along the street for the \u201cGardening Around the Corner\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/garteln-ums-eck\/\">Garteln ums Eck<\/a>) program. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/ma-42\/\">MA 42 \u2013 Vienna Parks and Gardens<\/a> lease parking spaces for community gardens, and also provide free assistance in answering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wien.gv.at\/umwelt\/parks\/pflanzenschutz\/pflanzenschutz-gartenberatungen.html\">questions about plants<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In most districts, people in Vienna can contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/gebietsbetreuungen-stadterneuerung-kurz-gb\/\">Gebietsbetreuungen Stadterneuerung<\/a> (Urban Renewal Office) or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/agenda-21\/\">Lokale Agenda 21 Wien<\/a>\u00a0 for help in implementing their own ideas for additional urban green spaces. In cooperation with the districts and the Vienna Parks and Gardens (MA 42), these offices help make public spaces greener. In implementing neighborhood gardens in municipal housing blocks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/wohnpartner\/\">Wohnpartner Wien<\/a> is available with advice and assistance. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/gartenpolylog\/\">Gartenpolylog<\/a> Association supports the construction of community gardens and assists both new and existing garden groups with expertise in organization, group dynamics, and horticulture. The association also contributes to the promotion and networking of community gardens. As an authority on green buildings, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/gruenstattgrau\/\">Gr\u00fcnStattGrau Research and Innovation GmbH<\/a> is also at your disposal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.garteln-in-wien.at\/en\/die-umweltberatung-wien\/\">The Umweltberatung<\/a> (Environmental Council) offers information and extensive visual material, such as brochures and posters, on a variety of ecologically relevant themes.
